Misk Foundation Signs Strategic Partnership Agreement with Ministry of Communications and Information Technology

In a step towards knowledge-sharing and skill-development, the Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Foundation “Misk” signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology today in Riyadh to empower youth in the field of communications and information technology to drive the development process in Saudi Arabia in line with the Saudi Vision 2030.

The Memorandum was signed by His Excellency Abdullah Al-Swaha, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and His Excellency Bader Alasaker, Secretary General of the Misk Foundation.

 

The agreement sought to empower the Saudi youth through designing training programs to promote their skills and abilities, establishing a fostering center for technology developers and entrepreneurs, and launching activities and competitions related to communications and information technology.

 

His Excellency Eng. Abdullah Al-Swaha commented that the strategic partnership with Misk Foundation was one of the Ministry’s goals for the year of 2020 focusing on empowering the human capital, increasing job opportunities in the field of communications and information technology, and training 20.000 Saudi youth in the field of communications and information technology by the year of 2020.  His Excellency also pointed out that the Misk Foundation is the optimal partner to empower the Saudi youth and integrate the public sector with the non-profit sector to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030.

 

The strategic partnership tackles four aspects. The first one is providing training programs in various technical fields, such as application development, programming basics, business analysis, the Internet of Things, web development, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, product management, user experience design, cloud computing, and professional skills for job readiness.

 

The second aspect is offering internships and fellowships in the field of communications and information technology in cooperation with world’s leading companies and elite universities.  The third aspect is establishing a joint innovation center to support technology developers and business owners by fostering the communications and information technology community through various levels from primary education and higher education to professionals.  The fourth and last aspect is holding activities and competitions related to communications and information technology.
