In collaboration with Sony Interactive Entertainment and Modern Electronics, Manga Productions – an affiliate of the Prince Mohammed bin Salman “Misk” Foundation – is offering a sponsoredinternshipopportunity for two talented individuals in the fields of 3D graphics and gaming in a competition format, so game on!

Overview on Sony Interactive Entertainment

Recognized as a global leader in interactive and digital entertainment, Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is responsible for the PlayStation® brand and family of products. Program Overview and Competition

The programs’ mechanism lies in training two exceptional game developers. The candidates will need to submit their work based on the specification and requirements detailed under “Admission requirements.” The submitted work will be assessed as part of a competition in which the two finalists will be selected by judges from Sony Interactive Entertainment.

The two winners will be awarded an internship opportunity at Media Molecule Ltd. in Guildford, Surrey. The internship program aims to provide students with modern skills and practices in the field of game development as well as offer specialized trainings, which prepares them to apply acquired skills and knowledge effectively in the actual work environments.

Competition details

Applicants will need to demonstrate their ability to create an imaginative, creative, and enjoyable world within 11 days. The applicants will need to use whatever tools and assets available. They are free to use assets of their own creation or those readily available online. The world they create can be either 2D or 3D, and must allow the player to traverse it freely. No gameplay mechanics, non-player characters, enemies, or challenges are required. The aim is to find the most creative, and innovative level design. Applicants must submit a playable build of their creation via a downloadable link.

  • Competition date: 29th of April
  • The full link will need to be uploaded in the application. So please make sure you do not submit your application until after you have uploaded your work
  •   You have to submit your application by 23:59 on 9th of May

Eligibility & Qualifications

  • Applicants must be a Saudi national
  • Familiarity with game engines
  • No prior experience required
  • You have to complete the competition successfully to be considered
  • Willingness to travel to the UK for 8 weeks
