Misk Teachers’ Fellowship- Teaching with Digital Technologies PDQ


Misk Teachers’ Fellowship is a program that offers the Cambridge PDQ Certificate in Teaching with Digital Technologies. This program is launched by Misk foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and TETCO. It will support teachers in gaining knowledge and experience in embedding digital technologies effectively in teaching and learning, improve digital literacy of teachers and students, and help teachers to prepare students for a digitally rich environment.

Project Overview

Misk Teachers’ Fellowship is a program that offers the Cambridge PDQ Certificate in Teaching with Digital Technologies. This program is launched by Misk foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and TETCO. It will support teachers in gaining knowledge and experience in embedding digital technologies effectively in teaching and learning, improve digital literacy of teachers and students, and help teachers to prepare students for a digitally rich environment.

Through this training program teachers will be able to:

  • Understand principles of teaching and learning and apply these principles to their own practice
  • Articulate their own personal theory of learning
  • Design coherent learning activities that focus on planning for active learning and teaching and embedding digital technologies in the learning process
  • Reflect critically on their own and colleagues’ teaching, and to experiment with new techniques and digital technologies
  • Learn collaboratively, supported by their colleagues, and participate in national professional learning communities

About Cambridge Certification

The Cambridge Certificate is internationally recognized, enhances teachers’ professional pathways, and opens pathways for their further professional career and development.

The Certificate is structured around three Modules. Module 1 can be taken on its own as the Certificate. If they choose teachers can also progress to Modules 2 and 3 to complete the Diploma. 

Target Group:

The program aims to train 300 teachers of the Future Gate schools in (Riyadh, Jeddah, Eastern Province, Abha, and Qasim). 

The PDQ Certificate is led by Cambridge certified Program Leaders and training provided by 15 professional trainers.

Eligibility & Qualification:

  • Teachers currently working in the classroom
  • Teachers From any subject area with the exception of computer science and I.T.
  • Working ina public school which is part of the Future Gate initiative from the Ministry of Education
  • Teaching experience of 2-15 years
  • Abasic knowledge of modern digital technologies     
  • Those who work in private schools, special education teacher, resource room teacher and student counselorare not eligible

Program Duration

The training is a 12-week program commencing in October 2018 concluding at the end of first Semester in 2018

The program includes 120 hours in total consisting of:

  • 40 hours Guided Learning (training sessions)
  • 40 hours Work-based Learning (in regular teaching time)
  • 40 hours Individual and Collaborative Learning (participation in online forums, readings and discussions with colleagues)

Program methods

The program will be blended learning including both online and face-to-face sessions.

Approximately 30% is face-to-face training and 70% online training.

Requirements for obtaining the certificate

  • Provide an evidence portfolio at the completion of the training containing the required evidence developed during the program.  These will then be evaluated by a team of qualified academic evaluators from Cambridge.
  • Attend 90% of the training sessions (face-to-face and online)

Program Times

  • The 4 face-to-face sessions will be held Saturdays from 10am – 2pm. These will be held approximately every 3 weeks.
  • Online video tutorials of 1 hour duration are provided weekly and can be viewed at a time suitable to the teacher.
  • Online webinars of 2 hours will be held weekly and will be scheduled outside of work hours at times convenient for the tutorial group.
