How do I apply to the program?

Please go to the homepage and tap ‘Apply Now’ to submit your online application.

I am not a Saudi citizen, can I apply?

No, the program is open only to Saudi nationals

Do international curriculum students have an advantage over Saudi curriculum students?

No, students enrolled under either curriculum are equally eligible.

Which US/UK universities are approved the Misk College Preparation Program?

The College Prep program aims to prepare students for the following universities:

  • Brown University
  • California Institute of Technology (Caltech)

  • Columbia University
  • Cornell University
  • Harvard University
  • John’s Hopkins University
  • Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)

After the 2-year program, can I ask to be sponsored to go to local university?

No. we prepare students for enrolment at leading US/UK universities. The program is only for those wishing to study overseas.

Application process

Do I need to take an English exam before applying?

Yes, you must take the TOEFL or IELTS exam to qualify to apply.

Do I need to take the ACT or SAT exams?

While you are not required to take the ACT or SAT exams to apply, we highly recommend students to take the SAT exam.

My GPA in my previous grades is below the minimal requirement, can I still apply?

Yes, we consider a wide range of factors when evaluating applications.

Is there a minimum TOEFL/IELTS score I need to be accepted?

Yes, you need a minimum TOEFL iBT score of 80, IELTS of 6.5 or equivalent.

Do you accept STEP as a substitute for the TOEFL or IELTS?

No, we do not accept STEP. All applicants are required to take either the TOEFL or IELTS exam.

What are the minimum scores for acceptance to the program?

We do not offer automatic acceptance based on meeting minimal scores, as our application evaluation process is based on the overall quality of your application.

Which documents do I need to submit online?

To successfully complete your application, you must upload scanned copies of the following documents:

–       TOEFL score report

–       School reports and transcripts of the last 3 years (grades 7, 8 and 9)

–       SAT/ACT score reports (if taken)

What documents am I required to submit in the online application?

How long do I have to complete and submit my application?

The application deadline is October 31.

When will I be told if I’ve been accepted?

We announce admission decisions in January.

Can I provide recommendation letters in Arabic?

No, letters must be in English. If the person writing the letter doesn’t speak/write English, we suggest using a translation service or software such as Google Translate.

Studying

Do I need to plan my own accommodation for the Summer Program?

No, you’ll stay on campus and we’ll organise it.

May I choose the summer school program?

Yes but only if you plan it with us ahead of time.

What happens if I don’t gain admission to a top 20 university?

We expect you to have the skills and experience you need to gain a place at a top-tier US/UK university. However, if you do not gain admission from one of these institutions you will not be enrolled in the Misk Undergraduate Fellowship.

Finance

Do you offer financial support for a female’s companion?

No, companions must be paid for independently.

What happens if I withdraw from the program?

If you withdraw from the program you need what we consider a valid reason and supporting documents. If you don’t have both of these, we will expect you to pay back any expenses we’ve incurred since your placement in the program.

  • Admitted for Fall/Autumn 2018 as a first-year student at one of the top undergraduates educational institutions in US/UK:

How do I apply to the program?

I am not a Saudi citizen, can I apply?

No, the program is open to Saudi nationals only.

What are the benefits of the program?

You will receive a fully-funded scholarship through the Ministry of Education including monthly stipend, travel, accommodation, health insurance and tuition costs. In addition, you will work with a dedicated team of advisors to prepare your individual development plan which will focus on your personal and professional development, outlining your goals and objectives for the year including courses, special projects and professional/community activities.

I couldn't see my university on your list even though it's a highly ranked university and within the top schools for my chosen field, am I eligible to apply?

If your college/university does not appear on this list, you can still be considered for the MiSK undergraduate/graduate Fellowships if you attend a college/university recognized as being in the top 10 colleges/universities in the US or UK for your specific major. You will be required to provide documentation to support this claim (e.g. copy of rankings from QS World University Rankings, US News and World Report, Times Higher Education World University Rankings, etc.)

Am I required to take the SAT, ACT or SAT subject to be considered for the program?

No, you are not required to take any of these exams. However, we encourage you to submit all of your test scores if you have taken any of these exams as additional evidence of your academic performance.

I am a sponsored student, am I eligible to apply?

We welcome all students who meet our eligibility requirements to apply to the program. It is your responsibility as a sponsored student to make sure you are not violating the terms and conditions set forth in your sponsorship agreement.

To be eligible for this award, you must:

  • Saudi Arabian citizen
  • Admitted for Fall/Autumn 2018 as a first-year student at one of the top 10 graduate educational institutions in US/UK in the area of study
  • Minimum of 3.5/4.0 GPA or equivalent in your previous degree

If your college/university does not appear on this list, you can still be considered for the MiSK Undergraduate Fellowship if you attend a college/university recognized as being in the top five colleges/universities in the US or UK for your specific major. You will be required to provide documentation to support this claim (e.g. copy of rankings from QS World University Rankings, US News and World Report, Times Higher Education World University Rankings, etc.)
